Features of Inconel 718 Wires
Inconel 718 wires are known for their excellent high-temperature strength, toughness, and oxidation resistance. They have a high yield strength of up to 120 ksi and a tensile strength of up to 180 ksi. Inconel 718 wires are also resistant to chloride ions and stress-corrosion cracking and offer good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Additionally, they have good fatigue resistance and can withstand high-temperature environments up to 1300°F (704°C).

Corrosion Resistance of Inconel 718 Wires
Inconel 718 wires are highly resistant to a broad range of corrosive environments. They are particularly resistant to aqueous corrosion, such as seawater, brine, and acidic solutions. Inconel 718 wires are also highly resistant to stress-corrosion cracking and offer good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. They are commonly used in harsh chemical environments and are known for their excellent resistance to sulfur compounds
Chemical Composition of Inconel 718 Wires
Inconel 718 wires comprise a nickel-chromium alloy with niobium, molybdenum, titanium, aluminium, and iron additions. The specific chemical composition of Inconel 718 wires can vary depending on the manufacturer. Still, they typically have a minimum nickel content of 50%, a maximum chromium content of 21%, and a maximum iron content of 18.5%. Adding niobium and molybdenum provides Inconel 718 wires with increased strength and toughness.
Physical & Mechanical Properties of Inconel 718 Wires
Inconel 718 wires have excellent physical and mechanical properties. They have a density of 8.2 g/cm3 and a melting point of 1336°C (2437°F). Inconel 718 wires exhibit excellent tensile and yield strengths, with a typical ultimate tensile strength of 180 ksi and a typical yield strength of 120 ksi. These wires also have good flexibility, with a minimum elongation of 12%. Inconel 718 wires also exhibit good resistance to fatigue and high-temperature creep
