Hastelloy C-276 Wires Corrosion Resistance
Like the C-22 wires, the Hastealloy C-276 wires boast unique features that make them highly desirable in various applications. The C-276 alloy is resistant to corrosive environments, including strong oxidizers, reducing acids, and chlorine-containing media. The material is highly versatile and can be used in various forms, including sheet, plate, bar, and wire mesh.
Hastelloy C-22 Chemical Composition
The C-22 nickel alloy has a unique blend of nickel, molybdenum, tungsten, and chromium, among other elements, making it resistant to even the most potent attack environments. The alloy also has a low carbon content, which minimizes carbide precipitation during welding and helps maintain resistance to intergranular attack in the welding heat-affected zone. Hastelloy C-276 Wires Heat Treatment
The Hastealloy C-276 alloy is a work-hardening alloy that can become brittle when used too hard during fabrication. To restore flexibility and corrosion resistance, the material requires heat treatment. The heat treatment process is carried out at 2050°F, followed by rapid water or air cooling depending on the alloy form. The process reduces localized corrosion and optimizes the material’s mechanical properties, making it suitable for various applications.
