Stainless Steel Nitronic 60 Fasteners are highly resistant to corrosion and erosion. Nitronic 60 contains approximately 8% nickel, which provides excellent corrosion resistance in various environments, including acidic and alkaline solutions. Nitronic 60 also contains chromium, silicon, and molybdenum, which enhance its corrosion resistance, making it more resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. Stainless Steel Nitronic 60 Fasteners contain various elements contributing to their strength, corrosion resistance, and hardness. Nitronic 60 contains about 16% chromium, 8% nickel, 7% manganese, 1% silicon, 0.10% carbon, 3.5% molybdenum, and 0.15% nitrogen. The nitrogen addition provides superior strain-hardening properties, improving yield and tensile strength. The manganese content improves Nitronic 60’s work-hardening rate and toughness.
Nitronic 60 Fasteners Physical & Mechanical Properties
Stainless Steel Nitronic 60 Fasteners have impressive physical and mechanical properties. Nitronic 60 has a maximum operating temperature of 800°F (425°C) and a melting point of 2552°F (1400°C). Nitronic 60 also has excellent strength, with a yield strength of 65,000 psi and a tensile strength of 140,000 psi and excellent ductility and toughness. Nitronic 60 is also easily cold-worked, annealed, and heat-treated, making it a flexible material for various applications.
